Lars Alexandersson

Lars Alexandersson in Tekken 6

Introduction

Lars Alexandersson is the current protagonist of the series. He was introduced in Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. He is the main protagonist of the Scenario Campaign mode, along with Alisa Bosconovitch. He has sandy brown hair that is spiked up vertically. His first outfit consists of a red and black armored suit, along with a black cape and a metal emblem of a lion on his chest. His second outfit consists of brown shoes, white pants, a dark gray jacket with a large white design on the top part and an extended collar, and red gloves. Also, Lars has a mobile phone that he talks into, and he speaks Japanese. Lars' tagline is "The one who betrayed his own in order to build a new era."  The Mishima Zaibatsu started a war against the world. The rise of the G Corporation opposition resulted in a global trail of carnage. In the fray, a large portion of the Zaibatsu's special military unit, the Tekken Force, defected from the organization. Lars Alexandersson led the coup d'état and became a ranking officer in the Tekken Force at a fairly young age due, in part, to his renowned physical and mental ability. Despite this high rank, Lars often fought on the front lines, which made him quite popular among his subordinates. Only he knew the fact that he drew the Mishima bloodline through his father, Heihachi Mishima. Even Heihachi was not aware of this piece of information. Lars is also the biological half-brother of Kazuya Mishima and adopted brother of Lee, the grandson of Jinpachi and the half-uncle of Jin Kazama.

Nina Williams

Nina Williams is a character from Namco's Tekken game series. She is known to be a cold-blooded assassin who had made her very first appearance in the original Tekken game and since has appeared in every Tekken game released. She is one of only four Tekken characters to appear in each game along with Yoshimitsu, Paul Phoenix and Heihachi Mishima and the only female character to have appeared in every installment. She is known to have an unstable relationship with her younger sister, Anna Williams.
Nina Williams is known for her lethal fighting styles, consisting of many martial arts and fighting skills. Due to the success of the character, Nina Williams starred in her own spin-off game, Death by Degrees.

Plot

Further information: Tekken (arcade game)
Nina Williams was born and raised in Ireland, as was her sister, Anna Williams.[1] From a young age, both were taught various forms of martial arts and other forms of fighting,[1] and a sibling rivalry broiled between the two. Both sisters admired their father Richard Williams, and they often craved for his attention. Nina was trained in assassination martial arts and borrows concepts from Aikido and bone martial arts,[1] making it ideal for her future job as an assassin. As she quickly became an assassin, the 20-year-old Nina had later been hired during the King of Iron Fist Tournament to assassinate Heihachi Mishima.

Further information: Tekken 2

Their strong rivalry was the part of force that drove them to fight each other later at the time. The other, in Tekken 2, Nina (now 22) was contracted to kill Kazuya Mishima, but Anna intervened and a conflict prevented her from fulfilling the assignment. She was captured by Mishima after failing to assassinate him and was used as a test subject in the "cold sleep" project by Dr. Boskonovich[1] - a cryogenic experiment.[4] Anna Williams volunteered to be put in cryogenic sleep, but demanded to be awoken at the same time as Nina. Fans speculate about the reason for this. Some believe that Anna couldn't bear life without Nina's presence, some suggest she was envious that Nina would remain youthful and stay 22-years-old in the cryosleep and some think she did it so that she could stay unharmed and ready to fight Nina once she was awakened. The experiments went on for 19 years.[1]

Further information: Tekken 3

Nina had suffered amnesia induced by her years in cryogenic sleep,[4] a fate from which her sister Anna was spared. During Tekken 3, she was controlled by the God of Fighting's spell and while possessed concentrated on killing Jin Kazama - Heihachi Mishima's grandson.[1] Anna worked intensively with Boskonovich to bring her sister's memories back, however, the project was unsuccessful and after a receiving a memory from Tekken 2, Nina realized that she and her sister did not get along. After this, Nina left and does not contact Anna again for some time.

Further information: Tekken 4

In Tekken 4, Nina's experiments had been finished for 2 years and (now 24) she soon revived her role as an assassin, as it was the only thing that she recalled from her previous life. Her next contract was from the Mafia Syndicate demanding her to kill a British boxer, Steve Fox. As the tournament progressed, she had gained knowledge that she was in fact Steve's mother, who was born through In vitro fertilisation during her years in cryosleep. At the last moment, she abandoned her assassination attempt after detective Lei Wulong brought down the syndicate. After the collapse of her employers, Nina no longer required a viable reason to pursue her target. It was also revealed that she remained emotionally impassive about the discovery of her biological son, but the fact that she did not kill him when the chance presented itself shows otherwise for some.

Further information: Tekken 5

Nina decided that it was time she re-discovered her lost memories and came to the conclusion that the only person who could help her was her sister, Anna Williams.[5] Anna meets with Nina soon after. However, Nina's memories and hatred instinctively returned, and they rapidly engaged in a gun battle.[6] The duel lasted for days and the two later agreed to meet at the next tournament and finish their battle.[5] The two promised that only one would walk away from the coming battle, however, Nina refused to take Anna's life as their fight wasn't satisfactory.

Paul Phoenix

Paul Phoenix

Paul Phoenix is a judo expert and a good friend of the Law family. His mixture of judo and Shotokan karate has achieved legendary status, but a seemingly minor complication always arises that prevents him from winning the tournament, as in the case when a traffic jam prevents his confrontation with his rival, Kazuya Mishima, at the end of the second Iron Fist tournament.
Paul in Tekken 2

In common with many Tekken characters, Paul's moveset includes flamboyant fictional attacks, mixed with more realistic-looking techniques. While his strike-heavy style bears little in common with grapple-based modern olympic judo, early judo did in fact include striking attacks, based as it was on various forms of jujutsu. In Tekken, Paul's sub-boss was Kuma, a bear supposedly trained by Heihachi Mishima; this was explained by Paul having witnessed as a child a martial artist called Willie Williams fighting a bear. Willie Williams is a real-life kyokushin karateka, who can indeed be seen challenging a bear in a sequence filmed as part of a documentary about Kyokushin Karate,.
Paul in Tekken 3

Paul went undefeated during The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3,starting a feud with Kuma then he even managed to beat Ogre. He left soon afterwards, claiming himself to be the winner. However, Ogre evolved into True Ogre and the tournament continued after his departure.

Heihachi is the son of Jinpachi Mishima, the father of Kazuya Mishima and Lars Alexandersson, the adopted father of Lee Chaolan, and the grandfather of Jin Kazama. He fights with Mishima Style Fighting Karate and is the founder and the Commander of the Tekken Force Unit. He has hosted half of the King of the Iron Fist Tournaments with the second, fifth and sixth King of Iron Fist Tournaments being hosted by Kazuya, Jinpachi, and Jin respectively.

Tekken plot history

In an attempt to eliminate his son's "weakness", Heihachi tossed Kazuya, his then 5-year old son, down a deep ravine, claiming that if he were truly his son, he would be able to survive the fall and climb back up. To further motivate Kazuya, Heihachi adopted Chinese orphan Lee and raised him as a rival to his true son. After Kazuya had traveled abroad and became an undefeated champion, the 52-year-old Heihachi announced the King of Iron Fist Tournament in order to test him. Kazuya won the tournament, tossed Heihachi off the same cliff and assumed control of the Zaibatsu. Heihachi survived the event, and returned 2 years later in the second tournament to defeat his son, and tossed Kazuya's body into a volcano to kill him. Later (now 73), he created a military force called the Tekken Force. Fifteen years after the end of the second tournament, in Central Mexico ruins they discovered Ogre, a creature with bloodlust for strong fighters. Seeking to create the ultimate lifeform from the creature, Heihachi took in his grandson Jin Kazama, trained him, and four years later announced the third Iron Fist tournament as bait.

Ogre arrived and was defeated by Jin, only for Heihachi to in turn betray and attempt to kill him. Jin survived, transformed into devil, attacked Heihachi and flew away.
Afterwards,

Heihachi attempted to combine his own DNA with that of Ogre, but discovered that he would need the Devil Gene as a catalyst, held by both his son and Jin. Unable to find Jin, Heihachi learned Kazuya had been resurrected by G Corporation, a rival company. To lure both to him, he held the fourth King of Iron Fist Tournament with his very company's ownership as the grand prize. After the Tekken Force captured Jin upon arrival, Heihachi defeats Kazuya. However, the two would be later defeated by Jin who escapes after sparing Heihachi's life.

Immediately after Jin's departure, an army of Jack-4s built and sent by G Corporation invaded Hon-Maru. Heihachi is seemingly killed in the attack, but survives in order to recover control of his company in Tekken 5. He continues his role in Tekken 6 where Jin's has taken Mishima Zaibatsu's control.
Heihachi in Tekken 6

Though unrelated to the story of the series, during the second trailer for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Heihachi appears to have regressed back his Tekken 2 appearance. Katsuhiro Harada commented on Heihachi's new voice actor for the game as former voice actor Daisuke Gori passed away in 2010.

Other video games

Heihachi makes a brief appearance on the Tekken spin-off game Death by Degrees as an optional boss. He also makes an appearance as a playable character in the PS2 version of the fighting game Soulcalibur II (it is the only game so far where he speaks in in English).

Heichachi is one of the bonus characters available to play as or against in Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis for the PlayStation (alongside fellow Namco characters) and is an unlockable character in Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2. He also makes guest appearances in the role-playing game Tales of the Abyss (as one of Anise's custom dolls) and in Pac-Man Fever (alongside several other Namco characters).

In the crossover tactical RPG Namco × Capcom Heichachi appears as one of playable characters representing Namco universe. He will also appear in the crossover fighting game Street Fighter X Tekken.

Kazuya Mishima

Kazuya Mishima

According to Namco's official backstory, Kazuya Mishima is the son of Heihachi Mishima, the long-time Chief Executive Officer of the Mishima Zaibatsu (a powerful worldwide conglomerate), and grandson of Jinpachi Mishima. He has a foster brother, Lee Chaolan, who was adopted by Heihachi Mishima, and also a half-brother, Lars Alexandersson, Heihachi's illegitimate son. Most importantly, he is the father of Jin Kazama, through a relationship with Jun Kazama.
When Kazuya was five years old, he was thrown off a cliff by his father, who claimed that his son was weak. If Kazuya was to be his father's successor to the Mishima Zaibatsu throne, he was to not only survive the fall, but climb back up the rocky cliff as well. Kazuya nearly died from the ordeal, but his survival was assured through a deal with the Devil, who promised him enough power to take his revenge on his father.
In the years prior to the events of the original Tekken, Kazuya entered martial arts tournaments all over the world, becoming an undefeated champion (only Paul Phoenix ever managed a draw with him). When the first King of Iron Fist Tournament was announced, 26-year-old Kazuya took the opportunity for vengeance. It is during the tournament that the original game takes place.
Though all Tekken games feature multiple endings, the main plot of the first Tekken assumes that Kazuya's is a "correct" ending. According to this ending, he overcomes all opponents and battles Heihachi in the final round. Apathetic towards the tournament's proposed one billion dollar prize and fueled by his hatred for his father, Kazuya wins and drops Heihachi's unconscious body from the same cliff he had been thrown from as a child.
Kazuya in Tekken 2

Tekken 2 then picks up two years afterward. In this story, Kazuya (now 28) has usurped the Mishima Zaibatsu and under his leadership, engaged in many illegal activities such as assassination, extortion, drug dealing and the smuggling of endangered species. Kazuya then decided to announce a second King of Iron Fist Tournament. Heihachi, having survived both his battle with Kazuya and the subsequent fall, enters the tournament, having trained and meditated in the hills after his defeat. This time, Tekken 2 assumes that Heihachi's ending is correct, and thus the official story states that he reclaims the Mishima Zaibatsu by defeating his son. Afterwards, Heihachi throws Kazuya into the mouth of an erupting volcano, killing him supposedly.
Kazuya and Jun  in Tekken 3

The story for Tekken 3 begins by stating that, before his defeat at the hands of Heihachi, Kazuya became intimate with Jun Kazama, who conceived their son, Jin Kazama. Kazuya does not appear as a playable character in Tekken 3, but he appears in Eddy Gordo's ending in a photo, and Eddy realizes that he is the man behind the murder of his father. He also appears alongside Jun Kazama in the game's alternate intro. Kazuya also appears in the non-canonical game, Tekken Tag Tournament. Though he is featured prominently within promotional art and packaging for the game, it bears no weight on the series' official story.
Return of Kazuya in Tekken 4

Kazuya returns as a main character in Tekken 4. His prologue in the game states that he was revived by G Corporation, a rival genetics company of the Mishima Zaibatsu, a few days after his supposed death. Kazuya (age 49) allows the company to perform various experiments on him in order to learn the true nature of the Devil Gene within his body (although he does not know that they are only using him and plan to kill him afterwards),

Jin Kazama

Jin Kazama - Heir of Cursed Blood

Jin Kazama is a fictional character in the Tekken series and the main protagonist throughout the series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the series, being featured on the packaging for the console version of each sequel following his introduction in Tekken 3. Jin Kazama is the son of Jun Kazama and Kazuya Mishima. Kazuya and Jun crossed paths and became intimate. Jun found herself pregnant with Jin immediately afterwards. The Devil that possessed Kazuya attempted to enter Jin while he was still in his mother's womb, but Jun defeated it. Wishing to raise her son alone, Jun disappeared into a remote mountain location, where she raised Jin and trained him in her Kazama-style self-defense fighting style.
